New York Fashion Week – S/S 2016 Ready To Wear

Givenchy

Making his debut in New York City, Ricardo Tisci, created a show that went just beyond expectations. The show took place at Pier 26 by the Hudson River, just before sunset with stunning views of One World Trade Center and Lower Manhattan.

Working hand with hand, with world known performance artist Marina Abramović, the show was not only a dream come true for Ricardo Tisci, but was also a runway that embraced a lot of symbolism, not only because it was Tisci’s 10th anniversary in the fashion house, but because it took part in the 14th anniversary of 9/11. Creating a scenery that was a full tribute, with one powerful message love. As Ricardo Tisci described it We are all the same, love is for everybody, love doesnt have a religion, love is love, and were in the same platform and were all the same

More than 1000 guests, live performances by different ethnic musicians, over 80 female and male model exits, the runway showed a magnificent collection surrounded by lace, chiffon, silk and feathers in black, white and ivory shades.

The whole scenery, made that night, definitely a night to remember.
